1 lb. ground beef
3/4 tsp. salt
Dash of pepper
4 (1 oz.) slices cheddar cheese
1 c. tomato sauce
4 buttered toasted buns

Use shallow 8" baking dish. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine beef, salt and pepper. Mix gently but thoroughly. Shape meat mixture into four patties. Top each with a slice of cheese. Pour tomato sauce over all. Bake 25 to 30 minutes. Serve on buttered toasted buns.
