JEWISH APPLE CAKE 
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sugar
1 c. salad oil
1/3 to 1/2 c. orange, grapefruit, or pineapple juice
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
1 tsp. salt
5-6 apples, pared, sliced thin
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Use large two piece tube pan (angel food type pan). Mix ingredients all at once. Beat 10 minutes. Pare and slice thin apples. Mix with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Grease and flour tube pan and put in alternate layers - the batter and the apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 90 minutes. Cool 1 hour before removing from pan.
