MEXICAN SALAD 
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 (1 lb.) can Ranch style beans
1/4 c. French dressing
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. chili powder
4 c. shredded lettuce
1/2 c. sliced green onion
1 (8 oz.) wedge sharp Cheddar cheese
Corn chips

Brown meat, add onion and cook until tender; stir in beans, French dressing, water and chili powder. Simmer 15 minutes. Combine lettuce and green onions in large bowl. Add meat sauce and 1 1/2 cups cheese, toss lightly. Serve with 1 cup crushed corn chips on top. Chopped tomatoes and sliced avocado may be added. Serves 6-8.
