PASTICHIO 
1 1/2 lbs. ground meat, all lamb, or all beef or a mixture of both
1 1/4 lbs. long macaroni
1/2 onion, finely chopped
1 sm. clove garlic, crushed
1 stick butter
6 eggs
1 1/2 qts. milk
1 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
Salt & pepper
Dash of ground cloves
Dash of ground cinnamon

Salt and pepper ground meat. Add finely chopped onion and crushed clove of garlic. Add a dash of ground cloves and cinnamon. Saute this meat mixture in 1 stick butter.

Boil macaroni in salted water until tender. Rub a 10" x 12" x 1 1/2" pan with butter. A casserole may be used. Place a layer of boiled macaroni on the bottom of the pan, cover well. Add the sauteed meat mixture over the macaroni; spread well. Add another layer of macaroni over the meat mixture, leaving at least 1/2 to 1/4 inch from top of pan. Beat eggs slightly. Add to the milk, then add 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Mix well until of custard consistency. Pour this over the top of the macaroni. Cover well. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese over the top.

Bake 1 1/2 hours in a 350 degree oven or until well set. Serve hot or cold. With a green salad, this makes a delicious meal.
