AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD 
NOTE: Do not refrigerate.

DAY 1:

The day you receive the Starter, do nothing but place in a covered bowl.

DAY 2, 3, 4:

Stir with wooden spoon.

DAY 5:

Add 1 cup plain flour, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup milk. Stir with wooden spoon.

DAY 6, 7, 8, 9:

Stir with wooden spoon.

DAY 10:

Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk. Stir with wooden spoon.

NEXT:

Pour into 3 containers, 1 cup each for friends, and these instructions.

In remaining mixture (1 cup), add 2/3 cup oil, 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 cups flour, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Mix together with wooden spoon. Add 1 large box instant pudding mix, 1 cup chopped nuts or minced nuts, 1 cup raisins, and 1 cup fruit, if desired.

Candied fruit for a holiday cake is good. Mix well. Pour into well-greased loaf pans that have been dusted in sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Makes 2 loaves. Let cool in pans before removing.
