CHICKEN IN SOUR CREAM | |
6 chicken breasts 2 c. sour cream 1/4 c. lemon juice 4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce 4 tsp. celery salt 2 tsp. paprika 4 cloves finely chopped garlic 1/2 tsp. pepper 4 tsp. salt 1 3/4 c. pkg. dry bread crumbs 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. shortening Cut breast in half, lengthwise. Wipe with damp paper towel. In large bowl, mix sour cream, lemon juice, paprika, garlic, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and celery salt. Add chicken to above and refrigerate overnight. Take chicken out of mixture; roll in crumbs and arrange in large, shallow pan. Melt butter and shortening in pan. Bake at 350 degrees, uncovered, for 45 minutes. Spoon rest of shortening over chicken. Bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until nicely browned. Place chicken pieces on a pretty platter and decorate with parsley, spiced apples, etc. Serves 6 to 8. |
