BIG SURPRISE CAKE 
1 c. butter, melted
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 1/4 c. sifted self-rising flour
1 c. buttermilk
8 egg whites

FROSTING:

12 egg yolks
1 3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 1/2 c. pecans
1 1/2 c. raisins
1 1/2 c. coconut
1 1/2 c. cherries

Mix well and bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes in three 9 inch layers.

For frosting cook together egg yolks, sugar, salt and butter. Add to frosting mixture the remaining ingredients. Mix well and spread between cool layers.
