BEER AND SAUERKRAUT CAKE 
2/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. beer
2/3 c. sauerkraut

Mix together the shortening and sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Stir together and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
