BEEF & PEPPERS 
1 clove garlic
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 lb. round steak, cut into thin strips
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 cans beef consomme
3 tbsp. cornstarch
3 tbsp. soy sauce
3 tbsp. water
1 1/2 tsp. brown sugar
1 c. sliced green pepper
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
1/2 c. celery, diagonally sliced

Brown garlic in butter. Remove garlic and add round steak. Brown well. Add pepper and consomme. Mix cornstarch, soy sauce, water and brown sugar; add to meat. Cook until thick. Add green pepper, mushrooms and celery. Simmer 1 1/2 hours. Serve over rice.
