BLACK BOTTOM CAKE 
1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
1 (8 oz.) softened cream cheese
1 unbeaten egg
1/3 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 pkg. chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix chocolate cake mix per the directions on back of package. Put this mix in either a greased and floured 9 1/2 x 13 pan or cupcake papers (2/3 way filled).

Combine the rest of the ingredients in a separate bowl. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of the cupcake or in several locations for the cake. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes or when cream cheese mixture is golden.
