SAUERKRAUT BALLS 
1 med. onion, minced
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 1/3 c. ground ham or corned beef
1/2 c. beef broth or water
1/2 c. flour
1 lb. can sauerkraut, well drained
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. milk
2 c. bread crumbs
1/4 c. butter
1 tbsp. chopped parsley

Saute onions in butter until brown. Add garlic. Mix well into the meat. Blend broth with 1/4 cup flour, stir until smooth. Grind sauerkraut in grinder. Add broth and sauerkraut to the above mixture. Cook on top of stove until almost dry and thick. Chill.

Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Roll in the remaining flour. Dip into egg and milk mixture. Roll in bread crumbs. Fry in deep fat at 350 degrees until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Yield: about 4 dozen.
