CHEESE STRAWS 
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. shredded sharp American process cheese
3 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
1 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream shortening; add cheese and beat well. Sift flour and salt together, stir into the creamed mixture.

Mix to a smooth dough, force through 3/4" to 1" saw tooth, flat cookie press plate. Press out in 3" lengths on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven, 350 degrees, about 12 minutes. Let cool on sheet a few minutes. Remove carefully. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
