CARAMEL FROSTING 
1 1/3 c. brown sugar
3 c. sifted confectioners' sugar (powdered sugar)
1 tsp. vanilla
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt

Combine brown sugar, butter, salt, and milk. Put in saucepan and bring to boil. Then cook slowly for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from saucepan; add vanilla and confectioners' sugar. Beat until smooth and right consistency for spreading. Cool slightly. If too thick, add a few drops of milk. If too thin, add confectioners' sugar.
