CHERRY COBBLER 
1 stick butter

Melt in flat baking dish.

BATTER:

1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. self-rising flour
1/2 c. milk

Mix. Pour in dish on butter; Do Not Stir.

Drain 1 #2 can sour cherries put cherries on top of batter; Do Not Stir.

Mix cherry juice with 3/4 cup sugar. Heat until sugar dissolves. Add 1/2 teaspoon almond extract. Pour on top of cherries; Do Not Stir.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until crust is brown.

If you use peaches or sweet fruit, omit the sugar in the syrup portion of the recipe. Simply use the syrup in the fruit and add the almond extract.

If you desire more crust, increase the batter mixture.
