OATMEAL ROCKS COOKIES 
1 c. Crisco
1 c. white sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 c. sweet milk
2 c. 1 minute oats
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. raisins, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With a mixer, cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Put baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, salt and first cup flour in sifter and sift into creamed mixture and beat. Add rest of flour and beat. Add oats, nuts and only enough milk to make a stiff dough.

Drop by teaspoon onto a greased cookie sheet 1 inch apart. Bake about 14 minutes at 350 degrees. Cookies will be brown. This is James' favorite cookie. Remember: Dark cookie sheets brown much faster.
