ONION BRISKET 
3 to 5 lbs. brisket
1 envelope onion soup mix
2 onions
Butter
6 med. potatoes

Obtain enough aluminum foil to completely wrap and seal brisket. Place foil in bottom of roast pan. Butter the foil at bottom of pan. Place brisket in foiled pan. Butter top of brisket. Sprinkle full package of onion soup mix over brisket. Slice onions and place on top of brisket. Fold foil up around brisket and crimp to seal. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour per pound. One hour before end of cooking, open foil and place 6 sliced potatoes in package. Reseal and complete cooking. Will supply ample gravy which can be used as au juice or gravied with flour.
