MOLASSES SOFTIES 
1 c. butter
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. molasses
3 tbsp. dark corn syrup
2 tbsp. milk
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. ginger
1 1/2 tsp. cloves
Sugar, set aside

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream butter, sugar and egg until fluffy. Beat in molasses, corn syrup and milk until blended well. Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls. Roll in set aside sugar. Place 3 inches apart, on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or just until golden. Cool 1 - 2 minutes, remove to rack. Makes 40.
