BON BON COOKIES 
Mix thoroughly:

1/2 cup soft butter
3/4 cup sifted confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla

Mix in by hand:

1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/8 teaspoon salt.

Wrap 1 tablespoon dough around filling (drained maraschino cherry, nut, coconut). Place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.

Bake at 350 degrees until set, but not browned. Dip tops of warm cookies in icing, decorate with colored sugar, coconut or sliced cherries.

ICING:

Mix 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoons cream and 1 teaspoon vanilla; add coloring, almond flavoring or cherry juice if desired.
