CHOCOLATE CHIP COFFEE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 c. flour
1 c. sour cream
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

TOPPING:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. cocoa
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. almonds, sliced or chopped

Cream sugar and butter until fluffy. Add flour, sour cream, eggs, baking powder, soda and vanilla. Then beat on low speed until moistened. Beat on medium speed 3 minutes. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased 9-inch tube pan.

TOPPING: Combine brown sugar, cocoa and flour. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in nuts and remaining chocolate chips. Crumble mixture evenly over batter. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-65 minutes. Cool completely before removing from pan. Freezes well. Serves 10-12.
