APPLE FRITTER RINGS 
4 lg. tart apples
1 c. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. cooking oil

TOPPING:

1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Core and peel apples, cut into 1/2 inch thick rings. Set aside. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, egg, milk, cooking oil. In a 2 inch deep pan heat 1 inch shortening or cooking oil to 375 degrees. Dip apple slices in batter, fry on each side about 1 1/2 minutes or until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with topping.
