APPLE FRITTERS IN VANILLA SAUCE 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 egg
1/4 c. salad oil
1 c. vanilla ice cream
Powdered sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 c. apple slices
1 c. whipped cream

Remove ice cream from freezer to soften. Mix flour, salt, egg, oil and milk. Then stir in the apple slices. Heat 3 to 4 inches oil to 375 degrees in deep fat fryer or kettle. Drop a level tablespoon into hot oil and fry about 5 minutes or until thoroughly cooked. Drain.

Prepare Sauce: Put softened ice cream into blender with whipped cream. Lightly blend until consistency of sour cream. Cover serving plate with sauce and place fritters on sauce to soak. Sprinkle powdered sugar on fritters and serve from serving plate.
