ECONOMY BISCUIT MIX (MAKES 11
CUPS)
 
8 c. flour
1 1/2 c. nonfat dry milk
5 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. salt
1 c. solid shortening

Combine dry ingredients and mix well. Work in shortening with finger tips until mixture resembles fine meal. Store in airtight container in cool dry place.

To make biscuits (18) add 3/4 cup water to 2 3/4 cup biscuit mix, stir and if necessary, add a few more spoonfuls of water to make soft dough. Turn onto floured surface and knead lightly. Cut into 2 inch rounds and bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.
