PORK FILLED FRIED WONTONS | |
1 pkg. wonton wraps (or eggroll if you want them bigger) 2-3 lb. ground pork (pork cube steak works the same) 4 green onions 2 tbsp. Chinese five spice 1/4 cup soy sauce 1 egg, slightly beaten 1 tbsp. sesame seed (optional) enough oil to deep fry in, preferably peanut but any works 2 egg yolks, beaten (to seal wontons with) Chop green onions to desired consistency (the smaller the better I think). Heat oil to fry in. In large bowl add pork, chopped green onions, five spice, soy sauce, beaten egg and sesame seed (if desired). Mix well with hands. Make sure to separate any large chunks of meat if any. Lay wonton wrapper flat and place mixture in the center. Do not overfill or it will squeeze out when you try to close it. I put about a teaspoon in each. Brush edges of wonton with beaten egg yolks, fold diagonally to form a triangle. You can also pull the two ends together but it is not necessary. Make sure to get the air out. Fry until golden brown. Serve hot or cooled. EASY DIPPING SAUCE: Yellow mustard and soy taste great together. Just mix equal parts of each in a condiment container and serve with wontons. Submitted by: JAH |
