HAND FREEZER ICE CREAM | |
4 eggs (separate eggs and beat egg whites) 2 c. sugar 1 large can evaporated milk 1/2 pint whipping cream 2 quarts sweet milk (approx.) 1/8 tsp. salt (optional) To the egg yolks, add sugar and canned milk and beat. Fold in beaten whites of eggs to which salt has been added and whipping cream. Pour into freezer can. Add enough sweet milk to cover top of dasher. Do not over fill, allow room for expansion in freezing. For variety: 3 c. (or less) mashed peaches, canned or fresh..or strawberries. Mix with 3/4 cup sugar or six mashed, well ripened bananas and cut up nuts, or one 2 1/2 can crushed pineapple. If pineapple is used, reduce the amount of sugar to 1/2 cup. For chocolate, add 7 bars of MILKY WAY® that have been melted in double boiler or microwave. Do not add any sugar |
