POPPY SEED BREAD 
2 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/8 c. oil
1 1/2 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tbsp. poppy seed
1/4 c. chopped lemon balm, optional

FOR GLAZE:

3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. orange juice or lemonade from concentrate
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
2 tsp. melted butter

Combine the first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt, poppy seed and lemon balm; gradually add to the first mixture. Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. Test bread with a knife or straw - they should come out clean. Combine all the ingredients for the glaze and mix until smooth. While the loaves are still warm, pour it over them.
