ORANGE SWEET POTATOES 
6 med. sweet potatoes
1 orange, thickly sliced, with peel
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. light Karo syrup

Peel potatoes and quarter lengthwise. Place potatoes in a saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Add orange slices and cook until potatoes are almost tender.

Arrange potatoes in a 1 1/2 quart baking dish and top with orange slices. Add Karo syrup and sugar to melted butter and mix well. Pour over potatoes and let stand covered in refrigerator overnight. Cook slowly at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Uncover and continue cooking for 1 additional hour. Serves 6.
