SWEDISH COFFEE BREAD 
1 c. milk
Pinch of salt
1/2 stick butter
1 pkg. yeast
1/4 c. water
1/2 tsp. sugar
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
6-8 cardamom seeds, crushed
4 c. flour

Scald milk with salt and butter. Dissolve yeast in sugar and lukewarm water. Add to milk mixture. Beat in sugar. Fold in eggs and cardamom. Add flour, mix well and knead. Let rise until double. Punch down and let rest, 15 minutes. Divide in 2 loaves. Braid each; brush with egg yolk and Swedish sugar. Let rise and bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
