OPEN-FACED HAMBURGERS
These are great to cook and freeze and pop in the oven to reheat and serve another day.

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt (or less)
1/4 cup ketchup (Hunts)
1 egg
2 tsp. mustard
2 tsp. dill pickle relish
4 hamburger buns

Place hamburger bun halves on baking sheet - 8 halves facing up.

Mix all other ingredients in a bowl. Divide mixture into eighths and shape a patty onto each bun half. Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.

Notes: We serve with mayonnaise on top. Easy to double or triple this recipe to make for a big group.

Other options to add to meat mixture:

diced onions (green or regular)
shredded cheese
crushed French’s crispy onions
minced garlic
Worcestershire sauce
soy sauce
diced jalapenos

If you add anything extra that is salty (like French’s onions or soy sauce), eliminate salt in recipe.

You could also top with a slice of American or Swiss cheese during cooking just long enough to melt.

Makes 8 burgers.
