2 c. all purpose flour 3 c. all white flour 2 tbsp. sugar 3/4 tsp. cream of tartar 1 egg, beaten 1 c. whole wheat flour 4 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. butter 1 c. milk Combine flours, baking power, sugar, salt and cream of tartar in a bowl. Cut in butter until like coarse cornmeal. Add egg and milk, stir quickly and briefly. Knead lightly on floured board, roll or pat gently to 1 inch thickness. Cut with 2 inch cutter. Place on cookie sheet and bake at 450 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. |
