BATTER FOR FRIED OKRA 
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sweet milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1/4 c. cooking oil

Mix all ingredients; pour over cut okra. Drop in hot oil. If all mixture is not needed for one meal, the extra can be kept in the refrigerator for 5 days.
