SOUP-BOWL STEW 
AHEAD OF TIME: Prepare meatballs, freeze. 20 MINUTES BEFORE: Heat oven to 400 degrees. Combine ingredients for soup bowl stew, heat to boiling. Prepare cobble-up; place in oven. 10 MINUTES BEFORE: Reduce heat for soup-bowl stew; cover and simmer. Place rolls on ungreased baking sheet; heat in oven. Set table. Prepare salad. Serve main course. Remove cobble-up from oven and serve.

1 RECIPE MAKE-AHEAD MEATBALLS:

1 lb. ground beef (about 35 meatballs)
3 tbsp. instant minced onion
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 egg
1/4 milk

Also will need:

1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
1 (8 oz.) can whole onions
1 (8 oz.) can whole potatoes
1 (8 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables with onion sauce
1 to 2 tsp. chili powder
1 c. water
1 beef bouillon cube or 2 tsp. instant beef bouillon

In a large kettle, combine frozen meatballs, tomatoes, onions (with liquid), potatoes (with liquid) and remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes. 4 or 5 servings.
