RED APPLESAUCE SALAD 
1 1/3 c. boiling water
1/3 c. red cinnamon candies
1 (3 oz.) pkg. orange Jello
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1 (8 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese
1/2 c. mayonnaise
3/4 c. coarsely chopped pecans
1/2 c. diced celery

Combine boiling water and cinnamon candies in a saucepan. Boil until candy is dissolved and stir constantly. When dissolved, add the orange Jello and stir well. Add to this the applesauce. Pour half the mixture into an 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" loaf pan, slightly oiled. Chill until set. Reserve the remaining applesauce mixture at room temperature. (Can put it in the refrigerator and let it start to congeal, it seems to pour better.)

While it is congealing, cream the softened cream cheese with the mayonnaise until smooth, add the pecans and celery. When the first mixture is hard, spread the cream mixture over it then add the remaining applesauce mixture on top of that. Chill until firm. Serves 8.
