NEW ENGLAND MEAT PIE | |
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 egg 1/4 c. chopped onions 1 pkg. (10 oz.) frozen mixed vegetables 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 tsp. butter, melted 1 lb. ground beef 1/4 c. dry bread crumbs 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. thyme 1 pkg. (12 oz.) frozen hash browns 3 oz. processed American cheese Combine 2 tablespoons tomato sauce with beef, egg, bread crumbs, onion and salt. Shape into 1 inch meat balls. Brown balls in skillet. Add remaining tomato sauce, vegetables and seasonings. Simmer about 5 minutes. Put potatoes into greased pan and brush with butter. Broil potatoes. Top potatoes with meat mixture. Arrange cheese strips on top. Bake at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes. |
