CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
1 cabbage
8 slices bacon
1 onion
1 green pepper
1 1/2 c. cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup
Bread crumbs

Steam cabbage (1 inch pieces) until tender. Cook bacon separately. Saute onion and green pepper in bacon drippings and mix with cabbage.

Put one layer cabbage mixture into greased casserole, sprinkle with bacon pieces and cheese. Repeat until all is used up.

Pour one can mushroom soup over all and top with bread crumbs.

Bake uncovered for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Excellent for a covered dish.
