OLD FASHIONED DRESSING | |
2 c. self-rising cornmeal 1 c. self-rising flour 2 eggs 1/2 stick butter, melted 1 c. buttermilk 1 c. water 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/2 c. chopped celery 1 heaping tbsp. sage 2 tsp. poultry seasoning 1 tsp. black pepper 5 c. chicken broth Mix together cornmeal, flour, eggs, butter, buttermilk, and water. Pour into greased pan and bake at 425 degrees until brown. When done, crumble and add onion, celery, sage, poultry seasoning, and pepper. Mix well and pour broth over all this. (If broth is not rich enough, add 2 tablespoons butter). Bake in 400 degree oven for 20 minutes or until well done. |
