PIE SHELL FROM PROCESSOR | |
1 1/4 c. whole wheat pastry flour, or plain whole wheat flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tbsp. wheat germ 7 tbsp. cold butter, cut in 7 pieces 1 egg yolk 2 tbsp. ice water Using steel blade in processor, put in flour, salt and wheat germ. Blend a few times by "pulsing". Add butter one piece at a time until mixture looks coarse. Add egg yolk and water while processor is running. Dough ball will form on blade. Remove dough from bowl, wrap in wax paper and chill at least 30 minutes. It can be made ahead and frozen. Makes one 10 inch pie shell. Easy. |
