1 box German chocolate cake mix 1 can evaporated milk 1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips 1 1/2 sticks butter 1/2 c. pecans, chopped Combine 1/2 cup evaporated milk with caramels in saucepan (or double boiler). Melt over low heat on stove, set aside. Mix cake mix and 1 1/2 sticks melted butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in large mixing bowl. Stir until dough holds together. Put 1/2 dough mixture in greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes. Remove from oven. Spread chocolate chips over this. Spread all the caramel over chips layer, then top with the rest of the dough mixture. Top with chopped pecans. Bake 15 to 18 minutes. Cool in refrigerator before serving. |
