HAM AND CHEESE STRATA I 
12 slices white bread, trim crusts
1/2 lb. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
2 c. cooked, diced ham
12 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Cut bread into cubes. Place about 2/3 of cubes in bottom of buttered 9 x 13 glass pan. Pour a little melted butter over this. Top with shredded cheese, then ham. Spread more bread cubes on top. Mix beaten eggs, milk, salt, mustard, pepper and pour over bread, cheese, ham.

Press down with spatula for even distribution. Before baking cover and refrigerate preferably overnight. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees uncovered.

Serves 8.
