CRUNCHY SWEET PICKLES 
2 c. household lime
2 gal. water

Dissolve.

Pour lime solution over cucumbers. Soak.

SYRUP:

7-8 c. sugar
2 tbsp. salt
1 qt. vinegar
1 qt. water
2 tbsp. pickling spice

Cut cucumbers in 1/4 inch slices. Pour lime solution over cucumbers. Let soak 24 hours, turning several times. Remove from solution. Rinse over and over through several changes of water.

Bring syrup to a boil. Boil 5 minutes. Pour syrup over pickles and let stand 3 hours. Boil for 30 minutes. Pack in jars and seal.
