SKILLET APPLE DESSERT 
3 lg. red cooking apples
4 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. light brown sugar
2 tsp. lemon juice
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
Heavy or whipping cream (optional)

About 15 minutes before serving:

Core apples; cut into 1/2 inch thick wedges.

In 12 inch skillet over medium heat, in hot butter, cook apples, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon and salt until apples are tender, about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Spoon apples and their syrup into six dessert bowls. If you like, serve with heavy cream. Makes 6 servings.
