3 c. sugar
1/2 c. corn syrup
2/3 c. water
2 egg whites
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts (if wanted)

Boil sugar, syrup and water to soft-ball stage. Then pour slowly over the egg whites, which have been beaten with the salt until stiff, stirring all the time. Beat well. Add nuts, if wanted. Beat until nearly cold. Work fast and drop from spoon on waxed paper.
