CINNAMON PUFFS 
2 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water (not hot)
3/4 c. lukewarm milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
3 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. vanilla

COATING MIXTURE:

1 c. granulated sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon

Combine yeast and water. Let stand 5 minutes.

In large mixing bowl, combine milk, sugar, salt, shortening, eggs and yeast mixture and half of flour. Beat 2 minutes in electric mixer. Add remaining flour and vanilla and beat 2 minutes more with spoon.

Drop tablespoon batter into well greased muffin cups. Place in warm place and let rise double in bulk. Bake in oven at 375 degrees for 18-20 minutes. Remove from pans and dip top and sides in melted butter (1/2) cup. Then roll in cinnamon-sugar mixture. Best served warm. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen.
