CHOCOLATE FUDGE CAKE AND
FROSTING
 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 sticks butter
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
Pinch of salt

FROSTING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box confectioners' sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans (optional)

Grease and flour sheet cake pan and set aside.

Sift together: 2 cups flour, 2 cups sugar; set aside. Mix in a pot: 2 sticks butter and 1 cup water, 4 tablespoons cocoa. Melt, bring to a boil. Mix with flour and sugar mix and add the rest of cake ingredients. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. Serves 12 to 16 people.

Frosting: Melt 1 stick butter, 4 tablespoons cocoa, 6 tablespoons milk and let it come to a boil. Take off burner and add 1 box of confectioners' sugar. Mix with mixer until well blended. (If too stiff add more milk.) Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and pour over cake while still hot. (Mix pecans with frosting if desired.)
