DUTCH COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg, separated
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Chopped walnuts or pecans

Grease lightly jelly roll pan. Combine butter and sugar; cream well. Add egg yolk; beat well. Add flour and cinnamon; mix well. Press into pan. Beat egg white until fluffy; spread over dough. Sprinkle with nuts and press lightly into dough. Bake about 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut into strips or squares immediately after removing from oven. Cool and sprinkle with confectioners sugar. These cookies freeze well.
