GEORGE WASHINGTON CHERRY CHEESE
CAKE
 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix (set 1 cup aside)
1 egg
2 tbsp. cooking oil

Mix until crumbly. Press into 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan, covering bottom and 3/4 up sides.

FILLING:

2 (8 oz.) pkgs. cream cheese
3 eggs
1 c. reserved cake mix
1/2 c. sugar

Beat 1 minute at medium speed, then at low speed add: 3 tbsp. vanilla 3 tbsp. lemon juice

Beat until smooth, will be thin. Pour into crust. Set in center of oven and bake at 300 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes. Center should be firm. Cool.

Top with one can of cherry pie filling. Refrigerate. Add whipped topping when serving.
