SOUTHERN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 bar German sweet chocolate, melted
3 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk (or milk with 1/4 tsp. lemon juice)

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar; add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla and chocolate. Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda; add to creamed mixture, alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Pour into greased 10 inch tube pan and bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
