WHITE FLOUR TORTILLAS 
4 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
4 tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 c. warm water

Using pastry blender mix dry ingredients until crumbly; add warm water, a few drops at a time. Work dough until manageable (you may not need all the water). Knead 15 to 20 times. Let stand 10 minutes. To cook tortillas: Form 8 to 10 egg shaped balls. Use rolling pin, roll into 6 inch circle. Place in hot skillet about 420 to 450 degrees. Cook first side 2 minutes, other side 1 minute.
