FREEZER SLAW 
1 lg. head cabbage, shredded
1 carrot, grated
1 mango, chopped
1 tbsp. salt
2 c. or less sugar
1 c. vinegar
1/4 c. water
Optional: 1 tsp. mustard seed and 1 tsp. celery seed

Mix first 4 ingredients well, then cover with cold water (tuck in a few ice cubes, too). Let stand 1 hour, then squeeze out. Bring the remaining ingredients to a boil and boil for 1 minute. When this mixture is lukewarm, pour over cabbage. Put in containers and store in refrigerator overnight, then freeze.

Variation: Add another carrot and omit the salt.
