RED CABBAGE 
1 head red cabbage
2 cloves garlic
4 med. tart apples
2 tbsp. wine vinegar
1/4 c. water
1 1/2 c. dry red wine
2 med. onions
1/4 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
3-4 tsp. sugar
1/4 c. butter

Shred cabbage, add butter and saute for 5 minutes. Add onions, minced garlic, sliced apples, allspice, salt and pepper. Toss together well, then add vinegar, water, sugar and wine. Cover and bake at 375 degrees F. for 1 hour, adding more wine if needed.
