BAKED APPLES NORWEGIAN - STYLE 
2 lg. red baking apples
1/3 c. chopped pecans
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Gjetost cheese
1/4 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Cut each apple in half crosswise; remove core. Combine Gjetost cheese, pecans, raisins, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg; spoon an equal portion into and over each apple half. Arrange apples in 8-inch microwave safe baking dish.

Microwave, uncovered, on high 5-6 minutes, rotating dish and apples after 3 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and let stand 3 minutes. Makes 4 servings.

Conventional oven method: Place apples in baking dish; set dish in pan containing 1/4 cup water. Tent tightly with foil; bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
